NEW YORK, NY – Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) Commissioner Peter A. Hatch today issued annual Holiday Shopping Tips to help consumers protect themselves during the incoming holiday season. The tips provide guidance on how consumers can identify seasonal scams, how to be a smart shopper, and resources to help consumers stay on track with their budget.
“We encourage New Yorkers to use our tips to protect their identity and money when shopping online or in stores and to protect their families from seasonal scams,” said Department of Consumer and Worker Protection Commissioner Peter A. Hatch. “Learn your consumer rights around prices and returns, as well as how to avoid high interest credit card debt and financing schemes. We want all New Yorkers to shop safe.
