2020 has been terrible but let’s fight back!

2020 has been a terrible year. The pandemic, the police brutality, the wildfires, the degradation of american leadership, the death of RBG, and countless other plagues upon us. It’s overwhelming and I’m the first to admit that I’ve found myself withdrawing from the news and falling into the social media echo chamber. It’s not helpful and not going to change anything. What I and we can do to make a difference is to make phone calls to swing states and participate in virtual events to raise funds… these are things that really can move the needle and help accomplish the one thing that will help fix everything else that’s so broken right now: electing Joe Biden as President and moving us past this painful period in America’s history.

I hope you’ll also join me in refocusing our efforts over the next 6 weeks until Election Day.

Today is National Voter Registration Day! I’m guessing you are registered but please do spread the word as far as possible! The Biden campaign is hosting a National VRD virtual rally tonight at 8pm – you can CLICK HERE to RSVP.

Since there’s no in-person canvassing, the best way to contact voters in swing states is to sign up for a weekly phonebank and invite friends to join you. You can find a full list of NY for Biden phonebanks HERE.

If you’d like to connect directly with New York for Biden campaign staff and discuss your involvement, they are hosting virtual office hours on Tuesday and Wednesdays at 1pm.

There are so many great virtual fundraising events for the campaign with amazing special guests. A list of upcoming events is below, and if you’d like to sign up to become a volunteer fundraiser for the campaign please CLICK HERE: https://bit.ly/JoinBiden4President

Please check out the great upcoming fundraisers below and consider supporting/sharing with your friends.

Donald Trump is raising historic campaign funds from his cronies and the Biden/Harris ticket needs our support to win.

I’m also co-hosting two more local events that you might be interested in:

Zoom Event for NYS Senator Andrew Gounardes with Congressman Jerry Nadler
Thursday, September 24th
Andrew Gounardes defeated a long-time republican incumbent to help flip control of the New York State Senate in 2018. Now Trump is winning in his district and we must work to hold this seat and keep Andrew in office.

Zoom Conversation with NYS Senator Brian Benjamin on the Future of our Country and New York
Tuesday, October 13th
6:30-7:30pm (to be confirmed)
Brian Benjamin will join us for a private conversation about the future of the nation and the State of New York. Brian is currently a State Senator representing Harlem in leadership, and was formerly an Obama delegate to the DNC. Brian will share his insight into happenings at the Federal, State, and local level with a focus on the immense challenges facing New York City.

That’s it for now. To summarize the game plan:

1. Register to vote and make a plan to vote
2. Sign up for weekly phone banks
3. Attend and share upcoming events

Thanks so much and please stay in touch. I’m just so tired of the terrible news and I’m sure you are too, so let’s make sure we can all celebrate together and turn the page in 2021!

In solidarity,

Jamie Ansorge
